That depends on the mindset of the tulpamancer as they might choose to accept any intrusive thought and end up with an unsolvable tulpa (as long as they keep this mindset).

plurality exists everywhere though, not just among those who use the word "tulpa"

i don't think there is anything wrong planning what tulpa you would like to have. focusing on your tulpa before starting the creation process is already a bonding experience and starts building expectations in your brain that will drive the process and also attachment to them

i know and i'm sure you do as well people who made tulpas without even hearing about tulpas and are happier than people that read all the guides before starting, because they didn't inherit potentially unhealthy beliefs

anyway, both roleplay with external people and wonderland stuff with a tulpa are imagination

is nice to do wonderland stuff with headmates

a lot of guides and beliefs in the community take the power away from tulpamancer. tulpamancy practice should empower the practitioner

I don't think one sentence is a good way to describe tulpas to someone brand new to the concept lol

i would definitely not recommend telling it to someone in real life

some people just get the appeal and others don't I don't know who will accept it so I just keep it to myself

I know. But the point is, it's you who decide how to spend that time with them.

I think it's good to mention this before starting- Keep in mind tulpamancy is not a science and not everyone agrees on how to make tulpas, or even what tulpas are. If you find conflicting advice, go ahead and pick whichever one you like better (even if it's the first one) and if that doesn't work try the other advice.

My opinion on creating a tulpa's form is giving them a form is fine but making them based off another fictional character can be tough. In general, young tulpas will want their host's attention, and will even deviate to have a more appealing form for their host sometimes. However, if you give them a form that belongs to another character, it may be a lot more difficult to not expect them to be that character. On dissipation- I have found that telling tulpamancers to think about it more times than not doesn't work. I too am also concerned about the ethical angle of pressuring a tulpamancer in the tulpa community given that this community is deviant. There's also the issue of the tulpa being miserable if they are unwanted. So I found the next best thing- encouraging people to fail fast and fail early. Right out the gate I'll still question if people want tulpas, but the new follow up is if someone doesn't want their tulpa anymore, I tell them dissipation is on the table. I also think it's important to give them the resources and advice to do it gently and humanely, otherwise they may stress themselves out and come up with unnecessary ideas like an electric chair or try to kill them with wonderland violence. Dissipation is just ignoring your tulpa, but there's an art to reduce the pain of saying goodbye. Granted, most hosts going through this hopefully won't grieve much if their tulpa is only a couple weeks old.

Normally I'd say read enough guides that you know how to make one without asking. But I'm not sure how one would do that without picking up harmful ideas and dogmas

I don't particularly recommend reading all of the tutorials before committing to the thing. Take some inspiration from what others people do with their tulpa but choose what feels most enjoyable for you.

I recomend reading a couple of guides and then writing your own. Doesnt need to have much in common with the others. Just get a feel for the process.
